The sugarcane industry is experiencing a profound transformation as artificial intelligence augments traditional farming methods with data – driven decision – making. This shift enables proactive management approaches, with issues identified before they impact yields or processing efficiency. AI agents, which are AI systems capable of perception, reasoning, and action have much potential to further evolve sugarcane agriculture and processing. The application of AI can help to address many of the sugarcane industry’s outstanding challenges: yield variability, resource intensity, and labor demands.
